Robb was born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He went on to become a prominent pastor of the Christian Revival Center in Zinc, Arkansas, where he espoused racist and antisemitic views. He also founded the Thomas Robb Ministries, which declares that certain ethnicities, including Anglo-Saxons, Germanic, Scandinavian, and their “kindred” people, are the “people of the Bible.”
Robb’s notoriety increased in 1989 when he took over the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, originally led by David Duke. Robb’s efforts to rebrand the Klan and make it more palatable to the mainstream included changing its name to “The Knights Party” and accepting members via mail-in forms, rather than initiation rites. Despite these changes, Robb’s message remained the same – promoting white supremacy and attacking racial and religious minorities.
