Michael Tucci attended H. Frank Carey Junior-Senior High School in Franklin Square, New York, and C.W. Post College of Long Island University, where he served as President of the local Sigma Beta Epsilon fraternity, which had Marjorie Merriweather Post as its honorary house mother and later became a chapter of the national Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Tucci also worked as a Residence Manager in the dorms. He also has a J.D. from St. John’s Law School.
Career
Michael Tucci is best known for his portrayal of T-Birds member Sonny LaTierri in the 1978 film Grease. From 1983 to 1986, he played law student Gerald Golden in the TV series The Paper Chase. Tucci played Garry Shandling’s best friend Pete Schumaker for five years on the cult classic It’s Garry Shandling’s Show (1986–1990).
He also spent over three years touring with companies of the musical “Chicago,” playing Roxy Hart’s husband, Amos. Michael also appeared on “Flying Blind” as a regular. His stage credits include HOLD ME!, Groucho, The Wizard of Oz (50th), Grease, Godspell, Minnie’s Boys, and Kid Twist.
For the first four seasons of Diagnosis: Murder, Michael Tucci also played Dick Van Dyke’s friend and hospital administrator Norman Briggs.
