Although Gauri and her husband hail from different religions, their children were taught to follow both faiths equally.

She launched Gauri Khan Designs, her exquisite design studio in Mumbai in 2017.

As an interior designer, she has worked with high-profile clients like Mukesh Ambani, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, etc.

In 2023, an FIR was filed against Gauri Khan in regard to a property purchase in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A case was registered under section 409 (criminal breach of trust) against Tulsiyani Construction, chief MD Anil Kumar, and director Mahesh Tulsiyani as well.
